I really like Above the Dunes, the location, the very pleasant owners who really care about the quality of your experience, and the food is delicious. Sometimes the food isn't as hot as it should be, something I hope they will address, but the staff always makes sure things get fixed if It's not immediately superb! Servers Parker and Gabriella are serious stars and provide standout service.

We went out for an early winter dinner to Above the Dunes. They have a beautiful 2nd story view overlooking Rehoboth beach. The food was delicious as always from salads, to shrimp with crab imperial, and blackened shrimp tacos. They have great crab cakes here too. Our server Kara was friendly and attentive, suggesting the specials and happy hour menu.

It's a great spot for drinks and quick food when you don't want to leave Rehoboth beach and spend more time after some eating (and drinking)! Plus they have seats in a little balcony so you can sit outside with your drink while staring at the ocean! The drinks here are good and they have anything you could possibly want. The food here is good, a bit pricey but for convenience, it's worth it.

Went there for an early Christmas dinner with the family. The food was outstanding and the service great. Our server was personable and got our drinks and food out quick. Overall, I'd def be going back.

I can definitely recommend above the dunes but there's some small things that drag this local haunt from a 5 to a 4. Lets start off like usual with ambiance. It's a cute little spot, when we came in it was quaint and decorated for Christmas. You can see the waves from the terrace (in the summer...) and from inside in the winter of course. It's a nice coastal place with coherent decore. Next off to the food. It was delicious, the crab dip was awesome. Seasoned nicely with noodles chips absolutely delicious. Next, the prime rib. The rib itself was overcooked both mine and my wife's, I ordered rare iit came out medium, she ordered medium rare it came out well done. Furthermore, while well seasoned portion control is an issue here. My cut was significantly thinner than my wife's and we ordered the exact same cut of prime rib. The portion of mashed potatoes on my wife's plate (she loves mashed potatoes) was much smaller than mine and her portion of vegetables was larger. So, not great in terms of portion and cook, but the seasoning is spot on. Lets talk drinks for just a minute, I asked for a coffee with bailies, I know this isn't on the menu but most full bars will have it. It's not bad, but it's odd to me when a customer asks to give them a look instead of saying something like "hey I'm not sure we can do that." It's a small thing but staff professionalism even in a casual place i feel is important. You can dress down, absolutely but you still need to be professional. Service-wise, our server was a wonderful person and aside from the one incident with my drink it was great all around. Our server was plesant, when they ran out of the drink my wife wanted, and the food she made sure to make it right. It was a really good experience overall. So... TLDR, great seasoning, solid service. Weird problems with portion control, and staff professionalism could just go up a level and take this over the top. Thanks for a lovely dinner regardless and happy holidays to you all!

Went with a large group for dinner during the offseason. I had a black and blue salad. There were only 5 small shrimp but they were very good. The greens were fresh and plentiful. They did skimp a bit on the dressing but to be fair, I didn't request more when I'm sure I could have. Husband had Fish and Chips and really enjoyed his meal. The server did a great job managing the multiple different check requests.

This location has changed concepts throughout the years but I have to say I was really impressed with Above the Dunes. I have always loved sitting upstairs on the balcony to enjoy a drink with one of the best views of the beach in Rehoboth. We came in for a late lunch after noticing the "happy hour 1-5pm" sign. We enjoyed a drink and shared some delicious $1.50 oysters and a 1/2lb of steamed shrimp, both HH specials. The seafood tasted so fresh and yummy. The rest of the menu looked to have some other great choices and variety. I hope this restaurant concept sticks around for a while.

We had drinks here once during happy hour, sitting on the balcony with great views. And on our last day in Rehoboth we had a big lunch at Above the Dunes. Service was very good, slightly slow at times, but it was a busy lunch. Drinks were flowing and were great. Food was plentiful. I had the most delicious grilled octopus. The prices for oysters during happy hour can't be beat. Definitely stop in when you're at Rehoboth Beach.
